LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

​BLU believes it is important to cultivate leaders that have the heart to serve their community. We provide a series of programs to develop leaders with the intent that they continue to contribute to communities throughout the Inland Empire.

SOL BROTHERS & SOUL SISTERS
LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS

SOL Brothers Logo.png

Sol Brothers Servant Leadership Camp is designed to train young men of color ages 14-21 to begin to address issues affecting themselves and their community. They will be inspired to exercise their leadership abilities, build character, serve their community, and commit to graduating from college.

Soul Sisters Logo.png

Soul Sisters Leadership Academy is an intense leadership training for young Black women ages 14-21. This gathering will focus on Black Women's history, cultural identity, exercising talents to lead and serve in school and community, and college & career planning.

  • 3 Alumni - Elected Presidents of District-wide African American Advisory Councils (2 in the largest school Districts in the IE) 
     

  • 4  Alumni - Ran/Running for elected office 2020 (2 city council, 1 school board, 1 US congress)
     

  • 4  Alumni - Ran/Secured public Commission/Board Appointments (Human Relations, Housing Commission, Non-Profit Association
     

  • 1 Alumni - Appointed to Labor Union leadership position
     

  • 1 Alumni - President of NAACP San Bernardino Chapter
     

  • 6  Alumni - Elected to College Campus Leadership positions (Spelman, Hampton, Morehouse, Syracuse, CSU East Bay, UC Riverside)
     

  • 3  Alumni - Selected for CA Assemblymember Eloise Reyes 30 Under 30 Leadership Award 2020
     

  • 2 Alumni - Hired at BLU to support Education Policy & Advocacy
